Loïc Heymès

Loïc grew up in the south of France, in Ventabren, a village near Aix-en-Provence. After spending his childhood in the garrigue, Loïc was able to continue his studies in Marseille and then in Lyon. In Lyon, he joined the ENS de Lyon and earned a Master’s degree (Master 2) in Chemistry. During this Master’s program, he completed several internships that took him to Ottawa and to the Solid-State Chemistry and Energy Laboratory of Jean-Marie Tarascon in Paris. In each of these laboratories, he discovered new infrared techniques and applied them to CO2 reduction. Looking for ambitious projects to conclude his studies at ENS de Lyon, the REEcover recycling project particularly matched his expectations. Outside the lab, Loïc enjoys the mountains, football, and judo. He often takes advantage of the great hiking and skiing opportunities the region offers. Besides his love for the outdoors, Loïc is passionate about football and judo, sports that keep him active.
